Step 1: Mohs Hardness Test
We test the hardness of your current floor to make sure we use the right diamonds to grind your floor. By performing a scratch test, we are able to match your floor with the exact diamond hardness necessary for optimal grinding.
Step 2: Moisture Test
Testing the moisture content of your floor is a critical step in the garage floor coating process. If the moisture reading is too high, your floor will fail. Many skip this step to cut costs, but Leaf Home Garage Flooring takes every precaution necessary to ensure the final product is nothing short of top-quality.
Step 3: Temperature Test
Measuring the temperature of the floor is another crucial step. This quality assurance step helps us to accurately forecast the cure time your new garage floor will need.
Garage Floor Installation Process
Once your floor has been tested and properly prepped, our team gets right to work on installing your new garage floor coating! Using our innovative B-Armor technology, we provide a premium solution that won’t crack, fade, or discolor.
Step 1: Pre-Prep Clean
Cleaning is one of the most important steps in the process. Dirt and grit will embed within the flooring system if allowed to remain there. Following our thorough process, we remove all debris to ensure satisfaction.
Step 2: Grind Surface
We use the top-of-the-line grinders on the market to work more efficiently and to create a more even surface. This allows the flooring system to adhere properly to make sure it lasts the tests of time.
Step 3: Fill Cracks & Blemishes
We go above and beyond and make your garage floor look brand new, by filling cracks, divots, and pitted areas. We improve existing floor blemishes to ensure we leave your new garage floor looking phenomenal.
Step 4: Pre-Install Acetone
We take cleaning very seriously. In order to make sure you don’t have bubbles, peeling, or delaminating, the floor is blown, swept, and vacuumed. Then we use an acetone rag to remove anything that is left behind.
Step 5: Apply Base Layer
The B-Armor base coat is squeegeed on then rolled to keep consistency in the floor. This layer is a sealant that contains pigment for maximum penetration and adhesion.
Step 6: Add Garage Floor Flakes
When adding the flakes, our team makes sure they’re applied consistently across the entire surface to give your garage floor the best look and feel. Available in 8 different colors, our B-Armor vinyl flakes are 100% virgin vinyl and UV stable so that they don’t fade or yellow over time.
Step 7: Post-Flake Clean
After the flakes have been set, we scrape off any excess to ensure your garage floor has a consistent textured surface throughout.
